The Bimetal M51 (SAW37B) band saw is a very robust version, ideal for cutting very hard metals. It consists of two metals; a high-speed steel strip and a high-strength spring steel alloy. The result is a low-maintenance band saw with wear-resistant teeth with an M51 cobalt tip that is even harder than that of its predecessor M42. The Bimetal M51 is also highly heat resistant. Bimetal M51 has a hardness of 67 HRC and has a Cobalt tip of 10%.
Bimetal M51 band saws are available in widths from 27 to 34 mm.
